in this video tutorial we’ll be looking
at slow dancing in a burning room by
John Mayer from the where the light is
live concert DVD and for those of you
familiar with that footage you might
remember the nice clean finger-picked
intro thing he kind of does
[Music]
so I’m going to do that as well but I’m
going to throw it on the end as a bonus
we’re going to start with the beginning
of the song in just a few minutes first
off this is in the key of C sharp minor
and we know that with a bit of reverse
engineering if we do a C sharp minor
scale starting at the ninth fret of the
low E
and then we apply chords to that for a
minor chord progression we have C sharp
minor D sharp diminished a major F sharp
minor D sharp minor a major B major and
then back to the C sharp minor and these
are the chords we find in a song right
off the top
and then we have the a to the E later on
we have the B
back to the C sharp minor and then an F
sharp minor
so those are the chords and again a lot
of the licks
or
all happen in this very first pentatonic
position C sharp minor pentatonic
which we’re all familiar with so let’s
get started
so get a nice clean Strat sound pickups
in the first position let’s look at the
first two measures starting at 19 with a
bit of a pickup on 18 to get us into it
[Music]
thank you so right off the top we’re on
the ninth fret of the a string and we’re
going to slide up to 11.
and then with that ringing with our
first finger we’re going to pick G9 and
I like to sound these both at the same
time and then our thumb is going to fret
the E9 like that
there’s a tendency to want a hybrid pick
where you pick the note on the a string
and then your second finger will pick
the G9 you can do that too but mirror
picks it all at this point
and then we have a little stab on that
minor chord we kind of adjust our
fingering so that I’m actually on thumb
on nine on the E9 third finger is on the
d11 and then I’m barring the nine on the
G and B strings get a little stab in
there and then we do a complex thing
and it’s kind of a double stop slide
where we’re sliding two different shapes
so the first shape is the D9 and the G8
we’re going to slide that up into d11
and then G9
so like that
now we’re going to slide it back down
really quick they’re kind of Grace note
slides very quickly done like that
and then it’s double stops on the a11
and d11
and then same thing on the ninth fret
and there’s a little open time keeping
thing so
from the top
foreign
[Music]
we’re going to go do this
[Applause]
and the complex part there is changing
these this a major and this e major with
this fingering from suspended second
chords to Major chords so we’re going
in the context of these two chords I’ll
show you what I mean so let’s listen for
it
thank you
and then the E is
[Music]
is a handful if you’re not used to this
kind of stuff mayor seems to do it all
the time he’s quite good at it throws it
in everywhere so let’s look at that
first a chord I’ve got my thumb on the
E5 I’m using the open a which you can
sound just a doubling of that note pinky
on D7 and I’ve got my first finger on G4
and then the second finger is on the B5
[Music]
third finger is going to fret the G6
like that so let’s strum that whole
thing
[Music]
and that just turns turns it from an A
suspended second
to a major
that’s that part so and then we hit it
as the second Hammer onto the major and
then we hit it as a second and then we
go into the next chord
now this e shape is very nice we’ve got
the opening pinky is on A7 first finger
is going to be on the D4 and then
barring the G4 and then the second
finger is on the B5 and our third finger
is going to hammer onto the D six
from me
suspended second to an E major so slow
that part
[Music]
to tell you the truth sometimes he
doesn’t really do the full chord like
that you can actually get away with for
the first one just muting everything and
playing the E string and then the G and
the B
[Music]
if you’re really good at muting so I’m
muting the fifth string with my thumb
the fourth string with my first finger
and just hitting three notes
[Music]
Thanksgiving the whole thing’s giving
you trouble and then for the E part
we’re gonna go we’re just gonna play the
low E open mute the fifth string and
then we’ve got the next two strings in
the middle bar to the second fret we’re
gonna hammer on to the D6 so you can do
that
but I notice when he’s demonstrating the
song in Q and A’s and stuff he will do
all
yeah the chords will end up having uh
four notes all the time instead of three
that I just showed so that’s up to you
let’s do that whole thing slow from the
start
foreign
[Music]
the very first time we open up it’s on
the a string from nine to eleven but as
we’re closing out the next pickup is on
the D string D9 to d11 like that so we
open up low and then the next pass is
high and we basically do the whole thing
over again
and continuing with measure 21 with that
I’ll just do a little pickup again
[Music]
so this one is an example measure 21 of
where he has the bass note and instead
of sounding all the notes on that C
sharp minor he’s just muting it all and
he does this sometimes so do whatever
you want sometimes it’s sounded like
this sometimes it’s lifted off and just
a muted chunk this part is the same the
double stops
with the open e and this part is
different down here
[Music]
that part there is we’ve got our thumb
on the
five muting the fifth string and then
our first finger is barred on the two
middle strings at the fourth fret and
we’re hammering on with our third finger
to the D6
as we’re strumming the top four notes of
the top four strings and then we’re
gonna hit it open and then pinky on A7
and then back open again on The Bard
fourth fret middle strings before going
into the E slow
foreign
into this lick
and that’s up at the ninth position on
the G and B strings we bar those two and
we’re going to hammer on on the G string
to the eleven and pull off to the nine
again move everything up two more
strings so we’re working on the two
middle strings of the ninth fret same
thing
so they hammer on pulled off occurs on
the D string D9 to 11.
so on the G string and B
and then move up to the D
and that does it for those two measures
let’s do that slow
[Music]
at this point it’s probably a good idea
to see what guitar 2 is doing and for
measures 22 to 26 guitar tubes doing
this
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
foreign
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
so this is kind of fiddly and
complicated to call out so I’ll just ask
you look at the tab for this where
essentially we’re sliding up these
little two note double stops and there’s
two shapes one example shape would be
B16 and e14 and we’re sliding into B17
and e16
[Music]
[Applause]
and then just alternating between those
two shapes so I’m just going to go
through it slow and we’re starting at
the shape where b14 is the highest note
[Applause]
foreign
that one and then we’re going to slide
into it again
come back down
one more slide
and at that point we’re shifting to the
G 13 and b12 then we do it all again
vibrato is good
and then we’re going to go down on that
G and B
so that’s
G13 and 12.
G 11 and 10 and then barred on the 9th
fret G and B string that’s guitar two uh
Robbie McIntosh and on the studio album
it’s double tracked with single note
guitar doing the Harmony on each side
measure 23 24.
[Music]
so that starts off the root of the chord
there on the E9 with the thumb stab it
and the lick goes like this
so we’re 9 to 11 on the a string and
then D9 back to the a11 and we have this
little hammer on pull off we’re barring
the ninth fret on the G and B and we’re
going to go on that g string to the 11
and then pull off from the 11 back to
where we were and then landing on the D
11.
[Music]
and then moving down to the a we do a
basic a major we don’t have to worry
about that major second we can just do a
normal chord like that stack it in the
little slash we’re going to hit the root
of that on the E5 and then the D7 and
then stab it so
before going into the E
let the end off we do this little
so that’s um that little lick is just
first finger on the G4 twice on the B5
first finger moves over to the D4 and
then pinky on the A7 and that ends it
off
whole thing slow
foreign
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
context it actually slides in the very
next measure
[Music]
like that so that’s that thing you’ll
notice final verses of the intro before
we get to the singing stuff uh 25 and 26
taken from that little pickup measure
[Music]
and that gets into that singing part
it’s just
so slow we’re coming off that
sliding and we’re basically sliding up
into the d11
stabbing the chord we do this
so it’s barring with the ninth fret
first finger on the G and B string we’re
going to hammer on to the
G11 and then left off and just hit the
barred strings at the ninth fret move it
up one string towards you and we’re
gonna go so that’s a hammer on from D9
to d11 and then lift off and just hit
the two middle strings barred at the
ninth and then this part
we’re doing that same thing we’ve got
our thumb on the fifth string we’re
we’re using the A and we’re going to Bar
at the fourth fret two middle strings
and do a hammer on to the D6 and then
lift off just hit them like that so bass
note and then two barred notes at the
fourth fret going to the pinky on the a
seven this time we’re going to hit an a
major chord and then go right into the
then we’re gonna holding this chord
we’re going to arpeggiate these notes
like
and at this point that chord we’re
holding is the E so it’s the uh pinky on
the a seven third finger on the D6 first
finger is on the G4 and our second
finger is on the B5 but we don’t really
play it we’re just going to start at
that
um
g string and just come up towards
yourself and then start over again
back down one so it’s
[Music]
and then we’re into the singing part
one more time on a slow
[Music]
[Music]
first one starts at measure 27 and
there’s a couple differences and let’s
just work through the first four
measures and I’ll discuss them you can
decide if you want to do them
[Music]
foreign
so one of the things that you see in
this measure is this new lick
so we’ve seen that variation of it it’s
a A9 hammer on to 11.
back to a 11 and then that barring of
the ninth fret G and B
hammer on to G11 to 9 and then
d11
sliding down into the a which is
appreciated and then into the E and in
this case we’re
[Applause]
so we’re arpeggiating that E chord from
the D D6 to
place and then our third finger is
sliding up into that d11 so there’s two
things the new lick
and this thing where we’re ending off
that E chord by arpeggiating some of the
notes
and rushing into that next note for the
beginning of the next measure so that
happens twice in this song So this lick
is the same for those first two measures
27 and 29 and then you’re ending off on
the E and you can arpeggiate it anywhere
you want he does it differently each
time
but you’ll notice that the first two
passes he rushes it
to get in to rush this little intro
pickup measures 31-34 are also very
similar not a lot of change but measure
34 just before we get into the chorus
sounds like this
[Music]
record I’m taking my pinky and I’m
putting it on the B7
before transitioning to the E and then
arpeggiating just a couple notes in
there and then we take a little bit of a
pause before transitioning into the
chorus
measure 35 is chorus number one and
we’re introducing some new chords we’ve
got this nice B chord and all of them
have open strings now we’re letting the
IE and sometimes the open B Rings this
is the B and then we’ve got the C sharp
minor
and then an A and we’re letting the B
and the E strings ring and then finally
to end off we’ve got this F sharp minor
[Music]
so let’s look at what that sounds like
the first four measures of the chorus
foreign
[Applause]
so we’ve got that B chord let’s just
take a look at that we’ve got our thumb
on E7 muting the next string and then
starting on the D I got nine eight seven
three fingers all stacked and the high e
is happening and my pinky is ready to do
something here so we’re gonna go on that
and I’m hammering on with the pinky at
the B9 so from the top there
[Music]
so I’m lifting off and hammering on that
pinky just try and fall along in the tab
in this
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
what’s kind of unusual is I’ve notated
the chord change happening a bit earlier
he goes to that C sharp minor on an
upstroke and he’s staying there for the
next part
[Music]
[Applause]
so that’s the next measure it’s
[Music]
[Applause]
so that’s the first part of the chorus
let’s just go through it slow
[Music]
[Applause]
so the next part of the chorus same for
the B chord but the rhythm’s slightly
different we do this
[Music]
one strum of the the F sharp minor and
then coming up on the open e and B’s so
the rhythmic variation I mentioned for
that B chord instead of going
it starts off with a very small
difference but I really like it so the
second part of that
[Music]
[Applause]
and we’re leaving that measure by doing
the C sharp minor chord early on an
upstroke and we go
all the way back down to the F sharp and
what we’re doing there is we’ve got our
thumb on the two on the low E muting the
next string and then four on the D two
on the G and then B and
once we wait a whole bunch of time and
then we kind of come up on the bottom
two notes and that’s how that ends so
I’m going to play through both of those
moderately to speed
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
foreign
that part in the song where you got to
come up on those two it ends off by
going up to the C sharp minor and we’re
doing a small variation of that chord
now we’ve got our pinky on the B12
and we go
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
so just to follow that up we’re just
going to be on the
sharp minor but instead of the old
fingering we’ve got uh 9 11 on the D
nine on the G pinky on the B12 and we’re
going to hit it
and we’re going to come down and lift
the pinky off and then the second finger
goes to
B10 and then lift off the B10 to have
the bar at the ninth fret and then we’re
going to take our third finger go to the
a11 slide down into the A and then e and
the whole thing off we’re preparing for
the next measure with that little pickup
it’s a slide from A9
and then
D9 to 11 and we’re into the next verse
this is 41 to 44 or an instrumental pass
just for verse 2.
[Music]
starts off since before
I’ve seen that look before we get to the
a it’s
into the E so it’s one two three four e
and then there’s this beautiful run up
so that’s on the D6 and then the G4 and
then seven six four on the D landing on
the A7 and then sliding into the
E9 to start off that next part
you can actually rake into that I like
that
and then pull off
before you land
you do all kinds of little things little
trolls Emerald Bluffs and then the next
part
has this lick
[Music]
Panera’s barring with the first finger
on the third fret bottom three strings
we’re going to do a hammer on pull off
on the B string 9 to 12.
and then we’ve got the first finger
already on the G9 we’re going to bend
that up like that and then land on the
d11 and then first finger barring the
ninth fret two middle strings we’re
going to do a hammer on on the D to the
11
pull off and then we’re going to do this
on the a so that’s sliding from a11 to 9
and pulling off from nine to seven slow
foreign
[Music]
[Applause]
thing there it’s uh this is the
fingering for the second to measure
third that we talked about
and what he ends up doing after he hits
that E chord as he goes
um
so we’re lifting off
to get the D4 we’re going to hit the B5
and then we’re hammering on to the D6
and we’re going to hit the G4 and then
twice on the chord and then two muted
strums
so you don’t have to do that exactly
like that these are just little ideas
you can mine from
this is 45 to 52 are verse 2 and there’s
a couple of variations let’s just go
over those if you want to include them
in your version
[Music]
thank you
foreign
[Music]
on from the A9 to 11 and then nine nine
on the next two strings and then
hammering on from the G9 to 11 and
pulling them back off again
and then nine on the D and then 11 on
the a
so that’s you hear that three times in
verse two and then down here when we go
to the A
[Music]
pinky on the B8 we hit the A and then we
have the pinky come down on the B8 this
note before going into the E so it’s
either or
[Music]
fat and we arpeggiate a couple times
and then slide up into the d11 kind of
as a precursor like we did before
eat that
[Applause]
[Music]
and then this part is new this is the
lyric make most of all the sadness
[Music]
so what’s going on there is we’re going
back to the intro where we have those
two double stops the one at D9 G8 and
then d11
G9 and we’re gonna go just between those
like that I’m going to pick down up down
up down up like that
[Music]
and then we’re gonna go that’s how we
get out of it that is d11 D9 a11 so
back into the age
and then this is a slight variation as
well we’re going to put our pinky on the
B12 and do that C sharp minor
[Music]
so that’s that’s a departure instead of
the we got a pinky out on the B12 and
we’re going to go
[Music]
before going into the lick
and then they
into the
internet so I really like this part
so that’s definitely worth including so
these are a couple variations that you
can chuck in if you want to in verse two
measures 53 to 58 or chorus too very
very similar
[Music]
slightly different strumming pattern
[Music]
so mayor is making all these strumming
patterns up as he goes but the one
difference here is on that F sharp minor
we actually hit that four times
[Music]
that’s one thing and then this part is
to end it off
so he just kind of you know goes on
autopilot with a lot of these strums
because he’s singing so you can kind of
go through and pick out the variations
that you want to play around with
measures 59 and 62 are Solo number one
so get a dirty sound on we’re still in
the first position pickup sounds like
this
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
so we’re starting with a hammer on from
9 to 12 on the B and then we move to the
14th fret of the B and bend it up
take it back down give it some vibrato
then we’re going to move to the ninth
fret do the same thing
so that’s
[Music]
then we’re on the G11 we do this
so we’re bending that G11 up a full step
leaving it there hitting
B12 and then taking that pre-bent g 11
down
back into the nine and we repeat that
again
before sliding in from nine to eleven
eight
and then the next part of the lick is
so that’s just all between the 9th and
12th Frets on the B and E what’s on the
B9 and then the B12 bend that up a
little bit and then E9 and then bend
that E12 up
and that turns into this look
we do two of those so
we’re doing there is we’re bending up
that E12 and coming down on the ninth
fret on the high e and then the V and
then repeating it
you do that twice before bending at a
full Step at the high e
and then hitting an unbent
then we’d go into this
[Music]
more so we’re doing this little kind of
run down it’s on the E9 pull off from 12
to 9. and then we’re doing some bending
on the G11
[Music]
probably easier to follow in the tab
and there’s actually an open d That’s
hit there but it’s it feels natural to
land on that d11
but instead he does an open D so do what
you want there
now we do this double stop
that is on the G11 and b12 sliding up
two Frets twice
bringing it back down and then with the
third finger we’re gonna go
back to the G9 and then we’re going to
end off with a slide down on that E12
actually this part here
you can do a finger substitution slide
down with the first finger delete the
third finger better position to do that
so that’s a mouthful let’s just do that
slow and you can follow along on the tab
[Music]
the bridge is measured 63 to 70 and
we’re going to be going between the F
sharp minor variation to the C sharp
minor to the B
back down to the F sharp minor for the
first part it sounds like this
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
thank you
so it’s more or less like that slight
variations when you get to that B chord
so we’ve got the F sharp minor shape
we’ve got the thumb on the second fret
muting the fifth and then starting at
the D we’re four two and then open
it goes like this
foreign strings in there the three top
strings open
so
[Music]
that’s the first part
[Music]
and the C sharp minor shape is the same
kind of fingering where nine on the low
E and then we’re starting at the D 11 9
and then open there and more time
now we move down to the B and the
shape’s a bit different we’re seven on
the root mute the fifth and then we’re
nine eight open open and it’s like
[Applause]
before going back down to the f
sharp minor and then after that we hit
that we’re going to arpeggiate
in the middle twice
so uh
foreign
just cycle that part a couple times
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
so that’s um that’s that part there’s a
couple things where you go into the b
instead of going
you can go
really it’s different every time eh it’s
time here so do what you want with it’s
a very nice expressive part the open
strings really make it cool so you do
that three times until we get into this
uh
a
and we climb up to the B and then the C
sharp minor
and then we are into the burning room
part
all right so that part we’ve seen before
so just remember we’re on the C sharp
minor to end it off
[Music]
[Applause]
that is the bridge
measure 71 to 78 are the outro and it’s
just this modified C sharp minor chord
we’ve got the pinky on the 12th right
here and it’s just
[Music]
time
[Music]
is strumming
[Music]
and while that’s going on guitar 2 is
going
[Music]
and we’re wrapping up for the big solo 2
outro
there’s 79 as the start of solo 2 the
outro solo let’s look at the two
measures at a time we’ll play it
performance speed and then I’ll slow it
down
[Music]
thank you
and it’s probably better if you just
follow along in the tab as I do it
slowly I’ll call it a couple road maps
first thing is we’re sliding down
into this Bend at the 12th fret of the B
so that’s on the G sliding down from 13
to 11 and then pulling off to nine and
then bending on the B12 do that twice
we do this
[Music]
I actually do a little Bend there but on
the tab I think we have a
Glide up and down so
[Music]
we do this very strange kind of slide up
on the a string two six
[Music]
eleven and we do this little rake on the
ninth fret
so we’re barring the D9 all the way down
and we hit those three strings
and we hammer on on the B 12
and then come back with 9 11 on the high
e
[Music]
so let’s do the whole thing slow
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
so that’s a repeating lick on the E11
where we’re bending it up and returning
to pitch and then picking the nine
and then coming down also on the B 12
and 9. so the repeating look is like
this
[Applause]
and we’re actually doing a little
upstroke on the two open strings in the
middle just to reorient the pick for a
rake into the next one
[Applause]
[Music]
to reorient for uh
[Music]
[Applause]
so you hear this like
[Music]
that kind of thing you hear that in some
of the mirrors fast licks it’s happening
so quick you almost don’t hear that but
that’s what he’s doing he’s reoranting
and then we start climbing up the E
string we go to the 12th
and then bending
and then we’re up on the e14
[Music]
. Randolph like that one more time slow
all right foreign
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Applause]
we’re timing on that one
[Music]
[Applause]
oh
one more time
[Applause]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
measures 85 and 86.
[Music]
slow
[Music]
oh
[Music]
one more time
[Music]
measures 87 and 88.
[Applause]
[Music]
you remember those little pick Direction
changing upstrokes before the downstroke
break those are important let’s do that
slow
[Music]
there it is
[Music]
so don’t forget those it’s good to start
doing that off the top or thinking about
it it’s actually something you don’t
think about when you start doing it but
when you’re learning it it’s good to
know it’s there
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
because there’s 89 and 90.
slow
[Music]
and off with three on the B17 one more
time slow
[Music]
[Applause]
this is 91 and 92 with a tail end of
measure 90 just to keep the idea
together here’s a series of parallel
octaves
foreign
[Music]
octave is where you’ve got in this case
a note on the D16 and the B
19 same note it’s an octave that is a f
sharp and we’re skipping over the middle
string and you can kind of move it
around like a chord
and it’s non-descript it’s neither a
minor nor major
and sounds kind of cool Wes Montgomery
is very popular with for this technique
and mirror does a lot of it in this
particular concert so here it is slow
and we’re starting on the with our first
finger on the d 16 and our pinky is on
the B 19.
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
so we’re doing the parallel octaves and
then we’re going into some single note
bends and things like that one more time
[Music]
I’m running off the double stop on the
g16 and the b17.
measures 93 and 94 continuing with
parallel octaves
[Music]
ending with a
[Music]
so I’m kind of over over emphasizing
those pickory orientations on the bends
like
thank you
just one more time slow
[Music]
now we’re coming upon that very
recognizable actual Melody so these are
measures 95 96 tail ended 94 to keep the
idea all in one big chunk and he’s
actually duetting with the second
guitarist they’re both harmonizing each
other I’m just going to show the Mirror
part but the Robbie McIntosh part is in
the tab
foreign
[Music]
so it starts with a and it ends with a
and in between we have a very
recognizable Melody starting on the 14th
fret of the B all of this is on the B
string
[Music]
take it down
hit it bent and take it down
slide to 14.
and then sliding from 12 to 14.
sliding back to 12.
and then landing on the B9 it’s a lot of
vibrato now in the studio track there’s
some very
[Music]
evident hammer-ons
but this first pass he just slides
everywhere
so you can pick one and do whatever you
want one more time slow
[Music]
measures 97 and 98.
[Music]
so that is uh neat because it has a
double Bend in it so we’re on the b14
it’s B16
and then we take our first finger we put
it on the E12 and we’ve got the B16 and
the E12 we’re going to bend the B string
up a half step
[Music]
so the pitches match and we go we do
this
[Music]
and then we do this
big slur on on the string we’re sliding
into B9 from Seven hammer on pull off on
the B12
back to the B7 and then we bend that B7
up a bit and then go down to the B5
[Music]
and then we climb up
and start the next one
so the whole thing’s slow
[Music]
measures 99 and 100
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
don’t forget those
where where they happen so the timing on
this is a bit different
[Music]
kind of leave it hanging out there
[Music]
and there’s an upstroke pick
reorientation to do a downstroke on the
hammer on
and then just slide down to 12 and I One
More Time slow
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
measure 100 101 all the way to the end
he does this
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
foreign
lots of slurry stuff there so it’s the
same old
but this time there’s some aggressive
straw like muted strums
[Music]
and then we’re like
basically sliding in from B7 to nine
hammeron pull off on the B12 back to
that B7 then we kind of bend it up a bit
and then we do this pretty complicated
fast slur
[Music]
five
might be easier just to follow through
on the tab because it’s so fast and it’s
hard to kind of convey what’s going on
but we’re hammering on pulling off and
sliding starting on the B5 to seven
to 9 up to 12 and then seven to nine
and then we’re on the G string on the
fourth fret
ending on the G1 and then in the
background you hear like a low E and a
very high E chord to finish it off and
the band is done at that point one more
time that big funny slur
[Music]
foreign
if you’re interested in that chord intro
he does stick around I’m going to throw
that on after this
so this chord solo that you see in the
DVD video footage is just made up
improvised and it’s kind of disjointed
but it gets into some grooves sometimes
so I’m just going to teach it in two
measure chunks I’ll play it fast and
then slow and you can kind of pick it up
from the tab it starts off like this
measure one
oh
[Music]
so slow
[Music]
measures three and four and we’re
switching really quickly from the pick
to just fingers so Stow your pick away
however you want to do it
foreign
[Music]
foreign
foreign
[Music]
foreign
[Music]
[Applause]
now I think this part he started going
in One Direction and changed his mind
halfway through because it’s
[Music]
one more time foreign
[Music]
and ten and I’ll throw in that little
pickup from the last measure
[Music]
so that’s
[Music]
one more time
[Music]
measures 11 and 12.
[Music]
slow
foreign
[Music]
[Music]
little leading node in the E5 here slow
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
measures 15 and 16.
[Music]
all that is is the a broom handle grip
pinky is going to hammer on on the B7
and then we move to the E get that low E
in there and then the next time we just
hit it like this same thing
[Music]
and then you’re done if you stuck around
this far congratulations not too many
people make it to the end I hope you
enjoyed the additional chord solo intro
from the live DVD and we’ll see you on
the next tutorial
