Does TCU have an actual horn frog?

The Texas Christian University uses two special horned frogs as identifiers for TCU. Horned Frogs are spiked, heavily armored, and fiercely territorial.

Why is the TCU mascot a Horned Frog?

The Horned Frog (or lizard) has been TCU’s mascot longer than TCU has been its name. Four students in 1897 helped make the decision for AddRan Christian University which was located in Waco in 1902, it was later named TCU. The Horned Frog was named the State Reptile of Texas in 1992.
